Asked to specify the party they would vote for in parliamentary elections, should they take place next Sunday, 28.7 percent named the Social Democrats.
The Labor Party ranks second with support from 12.9 percent of respondents, down by 2.4 percentage points from the January survey.
They are followed by the opposition Homeland Union–Lithuanian Christian Democrats (Conservatives) with 7.5 percent, the ruling Order and Justice party (7 percent) and the opposition Liberal Movement (6.7 percent).
According to the survey, the Social Democratic leader, Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius, is leading among politicians the population wants to see at the helm of the government – he was supported by 36.6 percent of those polled for the post. Meanwhile, the Labor Party's leader Viktor Uspaskich and Conservative leader Andrius Kubilius secured respective support of 6.6 percent and 5.5 percent.
Carried out by Spinter Tyrimai (Spinter Surveys), the results of the survey were published on delfi.lt news portal. The company interviewed 1,004 Lithuanian residents between 18 and 75.
