NSGK chairman sees no reason to investigate V. Bakas’ suspicions on illegal monitoring: “There was no crime”

National Security and Defence Committee (NSGK) chairman Dainius Gaižauskas says that there is no pretext for a parliamentary investigation on potential illegal information gathering and interference with domestic politics as per the request of committee member Vytautas Bakas. According to the NSGK chairman, the information that one of the state institutions was in breach of the law did not pan out. Former NSGK chairman V. Bakas says he does not retract his suspicions on potentially illegal actions and assures he will await the Seimas board’s decision on the proposal to investigate the situation.
