Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis earlier held the position to not announce minister candidates not coordinated with the president, however in the case of Lukas Savickas, whose candidacy was rejected on Wednesday, things were otherwise. The prime minister’s advisor Skirmantas Malinauskas says that this candidacy cannot be called uncoordinated – apparently having earlier displayed a positive attitude to this candidate, President Gitanas Nausėda suddenly changed his mind. According to the advisor, a new candidate will be sought, but this will be after S. Skvernelis’ holiday. Meanwhile, the Presidential Palace says that the head of state expected more candidates and is convinced that L. Savickas lacks experience.
