On Seimas election night 2016, with the results becoming clear, “Farmer” leader Ramūnas Karbauskis stated that many of the previous cabinet’s ministers lack competence and are unsuited to work in the new cabinet. However, something changed over the past few years – the seat of the minister of economics and innovation was offered to the previous government’s minister of transport and communications, then social democrat Rimantas Sinkevičius. What caused this?
