The new government’s eyes turn to East Asia: could a Lithuanian representation emerge in Taiwan and how would China react?

The new Ministry of Foreign Affairs (URM) leadership is planning to strengthen its diplomatic representation in East Asia. It has been indicated that upon reviewing bilateral relations and economic interests, new directions of development are going to be decided on in the near future. It is said that one such possibility is the establishment of a representation in Taiwan, which Lithuania does not recognise officially. Apparently, a similar one could also emerge in Vilnius.
