A mosque expected to rise in Vilnius: financial aid may come from Turkey

A plot of land has been granted to the Vilnius Sunni Muslim religious community to construct a house of prayer. A mosque should rise up in the Naujininkai suburb in four years. It has been calculated that the construction works could cost around 7-8 million euro. The Muslim community does not expect financial support from local state institutions, there are instead talks that Turkey could offer aid or perhaps Saudi Arabia, Qatar or other countries.
