On Monday last week, a group of diplomats, officers and businessmen gathered at a hotel decorated by hanging Chinese lanterns. They were there to mark the 70th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China. Attending members of Seimas associated their presence with their duties in the Seimas interparliamentary relations group and did not deny the human rights abuses observed in China. During the reception, the Tibet support group organised a protest by the hotel, urging to not forget the difficult situation in China.
