The poet who wrote in Polish and paid special attention to his birthplace Lithuania will be honored with poetry and songs at the International Dialogue Center in Krasnogruda.
The event will be also attended by Lithuanian Culture Attaché to Poland Rasa Rimickaitė, poet Birutė Jonuškaitė, literature and theater specialist Irena Veisaitė, and historian Egidijus Aleksandravičius.
Born in Seteniai, central Lithuania, on 30 June 1911, Milosz graduated from school and university in Vilnius, which was part of Poland in the interwar period. Later he moved to Poland to spend the war and the first years after the war. In 1951, the writer cut off his relations with the People's Republic of Poland and moved to France, later emigrated to the United States to teach the Slavic literature. He returned to Poland after the fall of the Iron Curtain and died in August 2004.
