Lithuanian Culture Ministry distributes 83,500 euros to promote cultures of national minorities

Lithuania's Culture Ministry has distributed 288,000 litas (EUR 83,500) to projects aimed at promoting cultures of national minority communities that live in the country.

The money will go to 90 projects in small sums of a few thousand litas each. The biggest sum – 14,000 litas – has been earmarked to the festival of the International Romani Day, 11,000 litas will go to the project of Kaunas Center for Different Cultures.

Other recipients of grants will include projects intended to promote Armenian, Belarusian, Estonian, Greek, Latvian, Karaite, Polish, Russian, Tatar, Ukrainian, Uzbek, German, Jewish, and other cultures.
