"India's economy is among the largest in the world, therefore, it is important for Lithuania to search for specific business niches in the country and attract more investments from India," the president said in a press release.
In Grybauskaitė's words, common Indo-European roots serve as the ground for promoting the interest of Indian entrepreneurs, scientists, and artists in Lithuania and boosting Lithuania's visibility in the South Asian country.
Talat-Kelpša, 35, was adviser to then prime minister Andrius Kubilius in 2011-2012. His earlier positions included minister plenipotentiary at the Lithuanian Embassy in Georgia, undersecretary at the Foreign Ministry and adviser to former president Valdas Adamkus.
Lithuania opened its embassy in India in July 2008.
