Municipalities seeking room for migrants and concerned about security

With the increasing influx of migrants crossing the Lithuanian border, there are discussions of housing them in the municipalities found near the border. Some of them find cooperation on the part of the central government to be lacking, while others say they would like to help but are concerned about ensuring safety. There are already discussions in Švenčionys region of a two-hectare area for the construction of modular houses, while in Šalčininkai, there are talks of locations, which were used to temporarily house citizens returning from abroad and required to enter quarantine.
