"Is there a thaw in Lithuanian-Polish relations? The answer: we are waiting for practical steps; if they are taken, relations will improve. But the situation is changing," Sikorski tweeted in response to questions.

The minister also drew attention to the role of the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania in Lithuania's ruling coalition.

"We have the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania in the ruling coalition. It would be best if problems of the Polish minority were solved inside the Lithuanian government," the Polish foreign minister said.

Lithuanian-Polish relations have been tense in recent years, primarily due to different attitudes to the ethnic minority situation.
