Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski visits Poland's Lithuanians

On Friday, the President of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski is visiting Lithuanian people living in Podlaskie Voivodship bordering Lithuania.

Mayor of Punsk Gmina Vytautas Liskauskas has told BNS Komorowski has already attended a Lithuanian service in a local church, met with local pupils and representatives of Lithuanian organizations.

Lithuanian people living in Poland have recently said they do not feel safe and called themselves hostages to Lithuanian-Polish relations.

According to data provided by Lithuania's Embassy in Poland, around 15,000 people of Lithuanian origin live in Poland, mainly in Sejny and Punsk near the Lithuanian-Polish border.
