Vilnius municipality looking for publication to spread city news abroad

Vilnius city municipality is searching for a publication that would report news about the Lithuanian capital in Latvia, Belarus, and the Russian Kaliningrad region, the Vilniaus Diena daily reports.

According to the daily, the municipality has announced a tender for purchase of press services in a Russian-language publication.

"The publication will provide relevant information about the city of Vilnius, decisions made by the Vilnius City Council, operations of municipal companies and administration, information relevant to Vilnius residents and work, activities, and plans of the municipality's departments, cultural and sports events held in the city," the municipality said in a press release.

The municipality's Public Relations Division told the daily it was searching for a publication that would be published in Lithuania and circulated in neighboring states in at least 8,000 copies per month. The municipality said there were over 20 such publications in Lithuania.

The cost of such advertisement campaign is unknown.
