KFC opens its main restaurant in the heart of Vilnius

On Thursday, the renewed flagship restaurant of the Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) chain in Lithuania opened its doors in the centre of the capital. The restaurant moved to a new location on Gediminas avenue 5, and was redesigned in line with modern trends using natural materials and was equipped with digital kiosks and digital menu boards, providing the best customer experience.

Relocated from Gediminas avenue 1 to Gediminas avenue 5, the restaurant will provide customers all of the most popular KFC dishes: chicken buckets, the famous Zinger sandwich and other favourite products made from Lithuanian chicken. Last year, in Lithuania alone, over 150 tons of KFC chicken were sold and at least 300 tons in all of the Baltic countries.

“We see how much Lithuanians love KFC chicken and we are extremely happy to launch the modern renovated KFC restaurant that is located in almost the same place our customers were used to. The restaurant is designed and equipped so as to fully satisfy the high expectations of our Lithuanian guests. We intend to work hard to ensure the best customer experience, providing innovations and technology alongside the original delicious KFC meals, and high safety standards. We believe that the new remodelled restaurant will become one of the favourite places in the city for people of different ages,” said Mauri Dorbek, KFC Baltics Board member.

Customer safety is a priority for KFC restaurants. While quarantine restrictions in the country are easing, KFC is guided by the global safety standards of network operator Yum! Brands. Therefore, the safety of guests in the renovated restaurant is ensured not only in accordance with the recommendations of the Government of the country, but also the global ones provided by the network operator.

The KFC brand is developing extremely quickly in the Central and Eastern European region, and the Baltics, including Lithuania, is playing a growing role. There are 7 restaurants in the Baltics, including 3 in Lithuania. At present, all restaurants in the Baltic States have 155 employees.

Reopening of the flagship restaurant in Lithuania is part of KFC's ambitious development strategy in the Baltics that aims to expand the chain up to 20 restaurants creating 500 jobs over the next two years. Apollo Group plans to redesign 2 more restaurants in Lithuania – in Vilnius and Panevėžys, and 4 new restaurants in Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda in the first half of 2021.

The restaurant has a capacity of 57 seats and is opened from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
