“The purpose of the center is to provide assistance to all users of COWI corporation on all IT issues. We start providing these services from Scandinavia and will expand later so as to service the group’s companies across the globe,” Donatas Oželis, head of IT sector at Cowi Lietuva, told the daily.
Other countries that wanted to host the IT center included the Philippines, Qatar and India, Oželis said adding that Lithuania had been chosen due to COWI’s experience in the market, good infrastructure, well-known investment environment, skilled IT professionals and rather insignificant cultural differences between Lithuania and Denmark.
“The IT center may be a good beginning for further expansion. If we are successful, Cowi’s human resources, financial sector management centers may appear in Lithuania,” Oželis said.
