Dozen Lithuanian companies appear on Deloitte’s list of 500 biggest Central European businesses

Twelve Lithuanian companies appeared on the 2011 ranking list of Central Europe’s top 500 companies compiled by international audit and business consultancy Deloitte – four more than in the previous ranking.

Orlen Lietuva (Orlen Lithuania), the oil refinery controlled by Poland’s PKN Orlen, moved up from 15th position in the previous ranking to the 11th spot.

Other Lithuanian companies that appeared on the ranking list include Vilniaus Prekyba (55th, down from 49th in the previous ranking), Maxima Group (64th, down from 60 thposition), Achema Group (161st, up from 263rd), Visagino Atominė Elektrinė (286th, not included in the previous ranking), Lukoil Baltija (319th, up form 340th), and Lesto (347th, not included in the previous ranking).

Palink, the operator of Iki grocery chains in Lithuania and Latvia, ranked 368th, Achema ranked 373rd, Lietuvos Dujos (Lithuanian Gas) was 449th, Sanitex was 456th, and Indorama Polymers Europe was 470th.

The ranking includes six Latvian companies and three Estonian companies.

The ranking is based on consolidated revenues of legal entities.
