Participation of Commission’s representatives in discussions was helpful while trying to reach the agreements faster, he told the Lithuanian Radio on Tuesday.
The participants of Monday’s meeting with Gazprom Export CEO, who also included the director general for energy at the Commission, had agreed that Lithuania should implement the reform of its gas sector by the end of 2014, Kubilius said adding that the reform was important for the construction of a liquefied natural gas terminal.
“The discussions are getting more constructive, there is much more of normal dialogue. The reasons for that might include the participation by the Commission’s representatives,” Kubilius said adding that he hoped that more constructive discussions with Gazprom might also be helpful in talks on gas prices.
