The Lithuanian Finance Ministry said this in response to an objection filed by Antonov, a Russian businessman who held a majority stake in the bank before the nationalization, against Lithuania on 7 May 2012.
This is Lithuania's position that has been submitted to Sayenko Kharenko, a Ukrainian law firm that represents Antonov, the ministry said in a press release on Tuesday.
"In the response, it is stated that the statements made in Antonov's objection are unfounded," said the ministry, which has hired Swiss law firm Lalive and Lithuanian law firm Sorainen & Partners for its legal battle with Antonov.
