Grand Cru Airlines said in a press release that it plans to establish a base at Vilnius Airport or Kaunas Airport and that it intends to operate abroad too.

The charter carrier initially plans to acquire two tourist-class Boeing aircraft, according to the press release.

Grand Cru Airlines says that it has attracted foreign investors, but would not disclose their names.

Barakauskas told BNS that the investors are from the EU and that they will hold a majority stake in the company.

He said that the airline expects to obtain an air operator's certificate and a commercial license in May.

According to the Center of Registers, Kaunas-based Legalit, which is 50-50 percent owned by two private individuals, is currently the sole shareholder of Grand Cru Airlines.
