"A tender to select a contractor for the quay will be announced by the end of this week," Klaipėdos Nafta spokeswoman Indrė Milinienė told BNS on Monday.
It is said that the company expects to sign an agreement with the contractor in November.
The winning bidder will have until fall 2014 to build the quay, as well as certain structures, pipelines and other installations for the supply of gas from the ship to the pipeline system.
In early July, Klaipėdos Nafta invited bids to design and build a pipeline, estimated to cost about 70 million litas, that will link its floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) to the country's natural gas supply system.
The winning bidder will have 27 months to design and build a pipeline of about 17 kilometers in length from the LNG terminal's quay to Lietuvos Dujos' (Lithuanian Gas) distribution station. It will also have to install gas equipment, a gas metering station, telecommunications and other systems on the quay.
Klaipėdos Nafta plans to launch a call for tenders for the supply of gas to the facility this year. The terminal is expected to be put into operation in late 2014.
