A respective agreement between the local authority of Vilnius and the consortium was signed on Thursday, Erikas Berontas, head of public procurement division of the local authority, told BNS.

Works should be launched in about one month‘s time.

This is the first order for Latvia’ leading road and bridge building company in Lithuania’s capital. Last year, Latvijas Tilti failed to win an approximately 80-million-litas order on the reconstruction of Panemunė bridge in Kaunas. However, the company is already working in Klaipėda where it is building infrastructure for a passenger and cargo terminal in a project worth 113 million litas.
