“The first step has been taken – we are now able to export breeding pigs,” a press release from the Agriculture Ministry quoted Vigilijus Jukna, the Minister of Agriculture, as saying.

Lithuania hopes that Russia will also lift a ban on exports of live pigs, which was imposed in June 2011 after the detection of classical swine fever outbreaks in the district of Kaunas.
