The fund's money were used to finance part of programs under Lithuania's 2004-2006 Single Programming Document (SPD), which were completed in 2010. A total of 2.1 billion litas was allocated from the ERDF for these programs and Lithuania has used all of the money.

Over the past two years, the European Commission examined whether Lithuania had correctly used the allocated funds. With no irregularities found, it transferred exactly as much money as identified by the country in its last payment request.

Lithuania was allocated a total of 3.091 billion litas from EU Structural Funds under the SPD during the period. The money was used to carry out 3,500 infrastructure, manufacturing, human resources, rural development and fisheries development projects.
