Lithuania’s GDP growth remains among EU’s highest

Lithuania’s GDP growth remains among the highest in the European Union (EU), according to the data from Eurostat released on Wednesday.

Lithuania ’s economy grew by 4.5 percent in the fourth quarter, year-on-year, which was the second highest annual growth rate in the EU after Latvia’s 5.3 percent.

Estonia ’s GDP grew by an annual 4 percent in the fourth quarter, and the EU’s GDP widened by 0.9 percent.

Compared with the third quarter, Lithuania’s GDP contracted by 0.9 percent in October-December, which was one of the largest drops across the EU. Estonia’s GDP declined by 0.8 percent, and Latvia’s grew by 0.8 percent.

Across the EU, the GDP shrank by 0.3 percent between October and December on a quarterly basis.
