Lithuania's GDP per capita rises to 62 percent of EU average

Lithuania's gross domestic product (GDP) per capita rose to 62 percent of the EU average last year, up 4 percentage points from 58 percent in 2010, preliminary data from the EU's statistics office Eurostat shows.

Latvia's GDP per capita increased to 58 percent of the EU average last year, from 52 percent in 2010, and Estonia's GDP per capital was up to 67 percent, from 65 percent.

Across the EU, GDP per capita, expressed in purchasing power standards, varied from 45 percent of the EU average in Bulgaria to 274 percent in Luxembourg.
