The cooperation deal with PANSA was signed on Monday, Oro Navigacija said in a press release.
According to Oro Navigacija, the European Union’s (EU) skies are currently divided into 27 national flight management systems along national borders. Air navigation services are provided by some 60 flight control centers, which sometimes do not allow airlines to take the shortest route.
The flight information region of Warsaw covers the area of 334,000 square kilometers, and of Vilnius, 76,000 square kilometers.
Lithuania is establishing a common airspace block with Poland, Latvia – with Estonia and Finland. The Baltic FAB is being created in conformity with the EU’s obligation to its Member States to establish FABs by 4 December 2012.
