The Lithuanian Competition Council said on Friday that it dropped a probe into the grocery chain Rimi's requirements to suppliers.

Rimi Lietuva is owned by Rimi Baltic, which is part of the Swedish-owned group ICA.

The probe was launched on suspicion that the chain demanded that some of its suppliers deliver their products in packages supplied by a certain foreign company, Container Centralen, the competition body said in a press release.

Rimi has removed the ambiguities regarding these requirements, it said, adding that no cases of applying this requirement were established during the investigation.

"On account of these circumstances, the Competition Council has terminated the investigation," the authority said.

Rimi is one of Lithuania's biggest grocery chains with 38 stores across the country.
