"According to the findings of an investigation by the Competition Council, a telephone advertisement that Latvia's Samsung Electronics Baltics ran in Lithuania last November could be misleading," Palmira Kvietkauskienė, the competition authority's spokeswoman, told BNS.
"Samsung representatives, who attended the Competition Council's meeting last week, disagreed with these findings," she said.
The authority says that the ad, which offered a Samsung Galaxy Note at half price, could have signs of misleading advertising, because if did not inform potential buyers that they had to sign up for services with a local telecoms operator in order to purchase the phone.
The probe was launched in mid-February following a complaint from an unnamed company.
