Agreements between manufacturers and shopping centers on positioning of their products on shelves also contribute to the success of sales.

Grocery chains claim that Lithuanians are loyal to local brands falling in the category of fast consumption goods. Lithuanians prefer local-made foods to analogous foreign products.

That choice is influenced by the strength of domestic meat, dairy and bakery industries, small differences in the prices of Lithuanian and foreign products. Moreover, the shelf life for dairy, meat, and bakery products is relatively short.
