"The loan will be used to ensure stable operations and smooth financing of further operations, including the necessary major projects provided for in the National Energy Strategy, of the transmission system operator, which is to be separated (from Lietuvos Dujos) to meet the legislative requirements," Lietuvos Dujos spokeswoman Jolita Butkienė told BNS.
On Thursday, the company published draft technical specifications for a tender on a 5-year loan in the central public procurement portal.
According to the draft, the loan would be used for the financing of transmission activities, which would be split from Lietuvos Dujos into a new transmission system operator.
The final amount of the loan might be up to 20 percent smaller, the document says.
