The company plans to build a logistics center, to improve the quality of courier services and to develop the range of financial services after the purchase of a network of mini-bank kiosks from Snoras, a Lithuanian commercial bank in bankruptcy.
“In the future, Lietuvos Paštas will not only provide traditional postal services. It will also be active in the markets of logistic, financial, mediation, electronic services. The main investment will be targeted at the competitiveness of services and the creation of a service base,” Transport Minister Eligijus Masiulis told the daily.
Lietuvos Paštas hopes to raise between 50 and 60 million litas through the sale of 120-to-130 properties across Lithuania and will borrow the rest.
“Debut on the stock exchange could come next so as to raise funds for further expansion. It could take place in two or three years if there is sufficient political will for that,” Masiulis said.
