The CRA has sued Tieto for damages related to the contract, signed back in 2010, for the development of an internal administration system, Inga Ziliene, the director of the authority's Strategy Department, told BNS.
"Tieto failed to fulfill its obligations -- (to do) the planned work -- within the established time frames," Ziliene told BNS.
Due to the delays, the contract was terminated last year, she added.
The CRA asked the court to order that Tieto pay it 200,000 litas, the amount it received under the contact, and another 400,000 litas in damages. It is seeking the damages both from Tieto Lietuva and Tieto Finland.
The Lithuanian Court of Appeals lifted a freeze on 600,000 litas worth of assets of Tieto Lietuva, Tieto's Lithuanian subsidiary, last Thursday, saying that the group is in a strong financial situation.
In 2010, the CRA rejected Tieto Lietuva's bid as too high and selected Blue Bridge Code, which submitted a lower-priced but less economically beneficial bid, as the winner. However, it was told by the Public Procurement Office to reassess the bids and named Tieto Lietuva as the winning bidder.
