Lithuanian TV advertising on the rise

Television advertising volumes in Lithuania grew in the first five months of this year compared with a year ago, while print and outdoor advertising volumes declined, data from the media audience surveying and advertising monitoring company TNS LT shows.

TV channels aired commercials with a total duration of 10.37 million seconds between January and May, up 4.4 percent year-on-year. Including Info TV, Liuks!, NTV Mir and TV8, which have been newly added to the list of monitored channels, TV advertising volumes rose by 17.2 percent.

Radio advertising volumes declined by 8.1 percent in year-on-year terms. Including the newly-added Power Hit Radio, radio advertising volumes rose by 1.8 percent, year-on-year, to 1.826 million seconds.

Magazine and newspaper advertising volumes dropped by 18.7 percent in the reporting period. In particular, advertising space in magazines shrank by 0.8 percent, and in newspapers, by 25.2 percent.

Internet advertising volumes declined by 6 percent, and the average daily outdoor static advertising space narrowed by 18.1 percent.
