In 2011, 39 percent of Lithuania’s consumers trusted consumer organizations, which was the second lowest result in the entire EU. The same percentage felt adequately protected by existing consumer protection measures, which was the second worst result across the EU as well.
The Consumer Conditions Index in Lithuania improved by 3 points over the year, to 52 points, which was the fourth lowest result in the EU after Romania, Greece and Bulgaria.
Some 39 percent of Lithuania’s consumers were satisfied with the handling of their complaints (the second lowest rate across the EU) and 58 percent believed that the sellers actually respected their rights as a consumer (below the EU average).
