Lithuanians regain optimism about economic situation

Fifty-eight percent of the Lithuanian population are negative about the current economic situation in the country, down 7 percentage points from 65 percent who gave a poor rating to the economy six months ago, according to a consumer survey by Omnicom Media Group.

Thirty-two percent of respondents in the latest survey thought that the economy was neither strong nor weak.

The percentage of those who said that they were still cautious with their spending fell to 65 percent, from 73 percent in the previous survey.

About 35 percent of respondents said they were more positive than negative about their personal financial situation.

Some 917 people were surveyed on 24 to 29 May.
