Most foreign visitors to Lithuania’s websites come from UK and Scandinavia

Most foreign visitors to Lithuania’s websites come from the UK and Scandinavian countries, a survey by the research company Gemius has shown.

Visitors from the UK comprised 31 percent of all foreign internet users who visited Lithuania’s websites between January and March. Some 19 percent came from Scandinavia, including 8 percent from Norway, 6 percent from Sweden and 4 percent from Denmark.

Visitors from the US comprised 8 percent of the total, from Ireland – 7 percent, from Germany – 6 percent, from France – 4 percent, from Russia – 3 percent, and from Latvia – another 3 percent.

Lithuanian website hits generated from abroad comprised 11 percent of the total Internet flow measured by Gemius. In Latvia, the respective share was 10 percent, and in Estonia – 9 percent.

The UK and Scandinavian countries are home to largest Lithuanian expat communities.
