Russia’s AK Bars Aero to stop flights between Vilnius and St Petersburg

Russia’s AK Bars Aero will stop direct flights between Vilnius and St. Petersburg from Monday, 4 June.

The route would be closed due to shortage of aircraft, the airport of Vilnius said adding that the company was also dissatisfied with the seat occupancy rate, which made up 40 percent on average.

“The airport of Vilnius will seek to ensure flights to St. Petersburg in cooperation with other companies as it sees this route’s potential for tourism and business,” the airport said in a press release.

AK Bars Aero offered twice weekly flights between Vilnius and St. Petersburg from 26 March.
