Litectus paid 33 million litas (EUR 9.56m) for the assets and the deal should be finalized in the near future, Litectus CEO, Edvinas Malevskis, told BNS. Later on, the company would look for a new buyer for the assets, he added.

The assets of Memelio Miestas include buildings in the center of Klaipėda, close to the port’s channel, which previously belonged to Laivitė, a ship repair company.

Litectus won a respective auction on April 4. The starting price for the assets totaled 32 million litas. The media reported that the assets auctioned off included the entire complex of buildings within the area concerned.

The project of Memelio Miestas involved the building of a 250-million-litas complex of commercial and residential premises as well as a mooring berth in the port of Klaipėda.
