The residents of St. Petersburg were more inclined to travel to Belarus for rest and treatment today, said Viktor Vorogushin, chairman of medical industry committee at St. Petersburg’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

“Lithuania should analyze why people from St. Petersburg prefer Belarus now. The only setback concerns transport links. It is particularly easy to go to Belarus. And to reach Druskininkai, you first have to go to Vilnius. A journey from St. Petersburg to Vilnius by train is very tiring, and in fact you get no sleep due to border and customs checks. Lithuania should think of ways to improve transport links,” he said.

A delegation representing the administration of St. Petersburg’s municipality, treatment establishments, medical industry and consulting companies visited Druskininkai on Wednesday.
