Vaišvila is leaving the post he has held for four years on January 31, "by mutual agreement", the airport said in a press release.
He has been at the helm of the state-owned company since February 24, 2009.
An interim CEO to take Vaišvila's place has not yet been named. Following Vaišvila's resignation, the Transport Ministry, which controls the airport, will launch a competition to select a new CEO.
