Ulker Baltija, which launched activities earlier this year, hopes to take 5 percent of Lithuania’s snack and confectionery trade market.
“We are setting up a company in Lithuania so as to boost sales. We plan to get hold of at least 5 percent of the market in the nearest three to four years,” Ulker Baltija CEO Ali Kilikli told the daily.
Until now, the imports of Ulker-branded products to Lithuania have not exceeded 2 million litas (EUR 0.6 m) per year, he says, adding that Ulker Baltija will also supervise sales in Latvia, Estonia, and Finland. “Vilnius is between Poland and Belarus. This location is attractive for us due to logistic advantages.”
“We do not launch activities with the sole aim of selling our products to three million people. Such population does not satisfy us. We want to establish a company here, possibly to open a manufacturing facility and to export from here to the whole of Europe,” Kilikli said.
