Verslo Žinios business daily to drop print edition on Mondays

Lithuania's business daily Verslo Žinios from next year will stop publishing a print edition on Mondays, making it only available electronically, the online news portal Vz.lt reports.

This follows recent announcements that national dailies Lietuvos Rytas and Respublika are dropping their Monday editions, too.

"We were forced to take this step because we are using the distribution service of Lietuvos Rytas, which will not be providing it on Mondays starting next year," Vz.lt quoted Verslo Žinios CEO Ugnius Jankauskas as saying.

Lietuvos Žinios and Diena Media News are still considering which way to go. Vilniaus Diena, one of the newspapers owned by Diena Media News, switched from daily to weekly publication at the start of this year.
