Vilnius office rent market on a slow rise

The office rent market in Vilnius remains sluggish but is stable, property experts say adding that potential tenants become increasingly interested in offices available on the outskirts of the Lithuanian capital as the supply of office space available in the center of Vilnius is running dry, the Verslo Žinios business daily reports.

According to the data made available by the property company Newsec/Re&Solution, approximately 17,000 square meters of office space were rented off in the first half of this year.

“The office market has been sluggish and dominated by small rental deals of lately. The office market is closely linked with the economic situation in the country, therefore no miracles could be expected,” Saulius Vagonis, head of the appraisal and market research unit at the real estate services company Ober-Haus, told the business daily.

The largest deal so far this year is the agreement between Lithuania’s state-run postal operator Lietuvos Paštas (Lithuanian Post) and property company MG Valda on the rent of a 5,000-square-meter office.
