Flu spreading in Lithuania, dozens of schools closed

With more and more of Lithuanian municipalities declaring flu epidemics, dozens of schools across Lithuania are being closed, doctors and municipal representatives inform.

11 of 17 schools in the southern city of Alytus are closing from Wednesday due to a flue epidemic in the city. Seven schools are also reportedly being closed in Kaunas, the second largest city, and two schools will close in the northern city of Panevėžys.

The port of Klaipėda is also considering declaring a flu epidemic in the city but there are not plans yet to close schools.

Flue epidemics have been declared in eight Lithuanian municipalities.
