Povilionis said unscheduled tests were carried out on Monday, but he refused on elaborate on the state of Pocius' health.
"Tests will show whether there are some problems or not," he said.
Pocius, 55, has been chief of defense of Lithuania since 2009. He started his military career in the Soviet army. During the protest demonstration against Soviet regime at the Supreme Council on 16 February 1990, he officially resigned the rank of SA reserve officer and military oath.
As a soldier-volunteer, he defended the Parliament of Lithuania during dramatic acts of Soviet aggression that caused deaths of Lithuanian people and serviceman in January and August 1991. In March 1991, Pocius joined Voluntary Service of National Defense.
On 30 June 2004 he was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General and was assigned as a Commander of the Lithuanian Land Forces and served in this position until 2007. Pocius served as Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff (DACOS) of the Joint Education and Training Sub-Division at the NATO HQ Allied Command Transformation in 2004-2007.
