Visitors of the website skaidrumolinija.lt (transparency line) will also be able to make anonymous reports of cases of bribery, misuse of official position, decisional procrastination and avoidance.
People will also be able to log onto the website to learn about violations, how to act in such cases and solve their problems in legitimate ways. Answers will be given by staff of Transparency International Lithuania administering the website, representatives of state institutions, and local authorities as well as fellow visitors. People will be able to make inquiries publicly or consult only Transparency International lawyers.
In case of corruption or bureaucratism, people will be able to report it to skaidrumolinija.lt and show it on the map of Lithuania by describing the alleged violation and identify the geographical area.
"The experience of our colleagues abroad shows that people willingly use such websites and report alleged violations and non-transparencies. I would really like the skaidrumolinija.lt to become a place where people will publicly and responsibly report problems and violations we wouldn't learn about otherwise. I hope the website will become a useful tool for law enforcement and representatives of state institutions and local authorities and for those who want to know what needs more attention and what needs to be improved in their activities," Sergejus Muravjovas, head of Transparency International Lithuania, said in a statement.
