"This card will replace paper tickets as of 15 August. Although paper tickets will be valid until the end of the year, the new card will be used for buying new monthly and daily tickets. It will be called the Vilnian's Card, which in fact is an electronic city card," Vilnius Mayor Artūras Zuokas told journalists on Tuesday.
In his words, Vilnius residents will be able to buy tickets valid for various durations – from half an hour or one hour to a month or several months.
The new system cost the city LTL 12.5 million (EUR 3.6 million).
