G. Nausėda: V. Sinkevičius has been nominated to become European commissioner

On Wednesday morning, President Gitanas Nausėda met with the interim Minister of Economics and Innovation Virginijus Sinkevičius. According to the head of state, V. Sinkevičius has been proposed as the country’s candidate to become European commissioner. That said, formal decisions are still necessary for this. Following V. Sinkevičius’ meeting with the new President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, there have been claims that he could receive a significant European commissioner office, but what office this might be has yet to be revealed.
