“As far as I know, I will have another meeting with them [Chevron] in the near time, by September 14. I don’t know the specific date yet,” he said in an interview to BNS on Friday.

Environment Minister Valentinas Mazuronis told BNS that he had not been notified about the meeting with Chevron. Chevron’s representatives refused to make any comments for the meantime.

The tender commission of the Environment Ministry plans to announce Chevron the winner of shale gas exploration and extraction tender at a meeting due on September 16.

Butkevičius has had three meetings with Chevron’s representatives so far. He stated after the last meeting early in July that the US company did not intend to pull out of Lithuania.
